Pitt. They followed us from the Big East to the ACC. Our recent history with them has not been in our favor, but I say we change that this weekend. Click jump if you agree. Or even if you don't. Just click the link.
Cool, thanks for joining us. Glad to have you. That game wasn't as great as we had hoped. Wasn't terrible as we expected either, though, so we're counting it as an overall plus here. UNC blows. You know that, I know that, they know that. Yet we only beat them by 10. Go figure. We play down to our opponents. Color me shocked.
Anyways, I was probably going to write some more about the game, but it's Friday, and I have gone and forgotten basically the entire game. I'll leave the ranting and raving to CGally and BDubs.
We do need to go acknowledge the winner from last week. Narrowly beating out the prettiest girl that contributes to the blog (yes, I'm biased) HTHoAkie (see what I did there, kid?) has the closest score from last week. Sorry Token Girl. You tried. I'll buy you dinner or something. But back to HT. YOU WIN!! DING DING DING!! But what do you win? Who the hell knows. Let's see. What do we have laying around here? Ah here we go.
Some leftover stadium cups we found in the back of CGally's trunk. Enjoy. Oh crap. Just noticed the typo. Oh well.
Onto this week’s predictions!
BDubs: At least the Panthers have a win, unlike their NFL counterpart (looking at you, C Gally). Hokies make sure they don't get another by stomping Pitt 31-6.
DiP: 31-17 hokies
d_w: quick.. don't look now, but we play at noon again only this time we are ranked! I'll hold my prediction for a moment while you process that little fact… does your head hurt trying to figure out how we are ranked? Hokies win another noon game on Saturday, once again we do it with defense. Hokies win 34 – 24.
Wright: My old lady got me tickets to the game for my birthday, so I hope I don't regret not picking the Duke game instead. Hokies win 27-21, a sack-fumble late seals another W.
CMU Football Analyst: The Hokies have lost the previous 4 meetings against the Panthers going back to 2001. That trend shifts and the Hokies win 30-21.
Poppa Gally: …. HoKKies 31 – piTT 10…. All good on Saturday!!
Hokie Ambassador to
Africa Philly Milwaukee Lebanon: Must be too busy helping refugees. Slacker.
Maniak: I'll be there in person to see the shellacking……but it's not going to be as big of a win as we all think…again. 24-10 Hokies.
Hokiesmash: Jim Weaver wakes up from his afternoon nap at halftime to see the Hokies struggling with Pitt. Tech manages to win in the fourth quarter, but Pitt's offense keeps it close. 21-17 Hokes
GWay: Love having to get up at 9 am to watch a game. Oh wait, I don't. However, Saturday will be sweet revenge over Pitt. Hokies take it 30-14.
BBull: I'll make a guest appearance since this is the one game I'll be able to attend in Blacksburg: Tech wins 27 – 13. The Hokies get four touchdowns but miss an extra point, as well as at least one field goal, causing Bud Foster to seize control over the special teams during the bye week. Following the successful Foster special teams coup d'etat, the Hokies will bock three kicks against Duke on Oct. 26.
JMcB: Is the Pitt QB's name really Tom Savage? I don't think I need to say much else.
VT 27, Pitt 17
Token Girl: She asked me to pick a score for her because she's too busy. So i'll go with… 52 – 3. Hokies, of course.
CGally: After the Panthers finish crying over how little everyone in their town cares about them, they lethargically take the field, only to get demolished 27-10.
The Northerner: Pitt has had our number the last several years. That changes this season. I still haven't bought that this team can control the game and win handily, especially against a decent team. Hokies win, though, and defense scores a TD sometime in the game after a turnover. 28 – 21.
I really need to start writing these things earlier in the week. Sorry that I'm busy and everything. I'll try harder next week.
There you have it, your predictions. As always, throw your predictions in the comment section.
Gobble gobble, bitches.
Let’s Go Hokies!!
