After much discussion, suggestion, and frustration, we've decided on our method for picking the field of 64 movie quotes for our annual tourney.

We will be holding conference championships from now until March. We will select 64 movies, and you the public will vote on which quote will make it to the big dance.

We have 62 movies selected at the moment. Needing two more, we're relying on our tens of readers to help us out.

But if someone suggests Garden State, you're banned from the site forever.

Two More Movies
Really? You left out USUAL SUSPECTS. What kind of list is this?

Also - definitely need to throw in GOODFELLAS, GODFATHER, or CASINO for the obligatory mobster flick.

Good call on Usual Suspects. Godfather is a little too "AFI Top 100" for us, but Casino/Goodfellas will be in there somewhere.

First of all, how can you have Clerks but not Clerks II, it has some incredibly quotable moments.

Second, I'm both surprised and delighted that no movies starring Larry the Cable Guy made the cut.

My nominations are Clerks II, The Departed, Grosse Pointe Blank, and Garden Sta....I mean The Big Hit.

I was being sarcastic...I swear one day I'm going to make millions by developing a way to convey sarcasm over the internet.

If I was being serious I would have said something like Battlefield Earth...

You should combine series like major league and clerks into the same conferences for purposes of choosing a quote. Otherwise it's just sloppy.

See? This is why we do this.

We were actually considering making originals and sequels the same. And with the addition of these movies we can't leave out, it'll give us a little more room.
