Immediate Reactions to the GT Game
Written by The Northerner

Well that was fucking awful.

Here's your recap:

  1. We played like shit.
  2. Georgia Tech was obviously more jacked about this game than we were.
  3. Bud Foster dropped the ball with defending the option.  We could not figure it out.
  4. Stinespring is back to his normal self.  Run the ball when you can't get yardage and abandon the pass altogether.  Even when your passing has been pretty good.
  5. We continued our trend of having one week on, the next week off.  Prepare for us to play well next week.
  6. The thing that pisses me off the most is that we went in to this game knowing that they had a good run defense and a terrible pass defense.  What do we do?  Wait until two minutes left in the game to pass the fucking ball.
  7. Bye bye National Championship chances.  Now we're fighting to get into the ACC Championship, and if we keep this on/off week to week trend, we might be out of that, too.
  8. Now we have to win out, which shouldn't be tough, key word is shouldn't; and we need to hope that Vandy, UVA, Wake, Duke, or Georgia beat GT and we can win the Coastal.
  9. Let this be a lesson to us all, and review the age-old adage of don't count your chickens until they're hatched.  We should never mention National Championship chances until we are winning by 15 with a minute left in the 4th quarter of our final game of the season.  No sooner.
  10. And just to show you how off we are with our "signs", Independence Day was playing on TBS during our game.
I'm so pissed I don't even know what to fucking say.  If we thought we could take it easy against a ranked opponent, then we are stupider than I thought.

I hate you Bryan Stinespring. Did anyone else notice that we were able to score when Tyrod threw the ball...yet Stinespring decided running would be the best option the whole 3rd quarter. I HATE YOU.

But I love The North End Zone.

anyone else sick of hearing "what happened to VT?" from people who either didn't go to college or support a football team that as a general rule sucks donkey balls?? (ie.. JMU.. WVU.. Community College Students)

I love the anger. I can sense the rage. Just to clarify, a loss to Georgia or Vandy wouldn't matter.

An honest mistake, considering the circumstances of the time of the post.

Whatever. I'm not concerned. However, I am still infuriated by that game. I put the burden of the loss squarely on your shoulders, CGally, for deciding that this week, we should try and introduce a live blog. ALL. YOUR. FAULT.

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

The most frustrating thing to me is when stinespring calls his own plays in the hurry up offense we score 2 TDs in about 2 minutes total. Stinespring had the exact same tools and did nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING with them. Running one play action pass deep on the first play of the game and then abandoning it for the next 3 quarters doesn't qualify as stretching the defense. Everyone with a casual interest in college football knew GT's secondary was terrible and we didn't test them at all.
