We all knew it was coming. Sooner or later they would do it. Virginia Tech has successfully stopped underage drinking.
--------------
Or just ruined the party for everyone.
Seriously VT? I'm disappointed in you. Not mad, just disappointed. I feel like there has been plenty of association between our university and alcohol in the past, yet somehow, making the cans maroon and orange is the final straw. Luckily though, now that the cans will be going back to blue (in Blacksburg at least), no more underage kids will be imbibing booze at Virginia Tech. Whew. That was a close one.
Funny thing is, is that I didn't even drink Bud Light when I was underage. Shit was too expensive. Nothing but Keystone Light, Natty Light, and (shudder) beast. Bud Light was only when someone else was paying for beer or after I got sick of the uber-shitty beer (which consequently was when I could go to a bar and choose from the "massive" selection before me).
But Virginia Tech has got to go and ruin the fun. Luckily I held onto two of these bad boys knowing they were going to get shut down sooner or later. One is prominantly displayed in my kitchen. And I wasn't the one who put it there (it was the wife - now you know why I locked that up as soon as possible).
As much as I want to blame Chucky Steegs or any of the other tight-ass administrators, I can't. This is because I'm fairly certain that Bryan Stinespring and Jim Weaver are fully behind these shenanigans.
Bottom line is that these cans are awesome and they do not make me want to drink more beer than I already do. If I were still in school and these things came out, the only effect they would have on me is that I would be buying Bud Light instead of Miller Lite or Coors Light. And both of those suck anyways, so in reality: NOTHING WOULD CHANGE. If you start drinking more beer just because of the packaging, you are, in fact, the biggest douche in the world. Congratulations.
