Yeah, you read that right, our defense held UMBC to 34 points!  Damn, Gina!

So now we're 10-1 and torching the competition.  I mean we scored more than double the points the Retrievers did last night.

Now, I'll be the first one to tell you that I am not a basketball fan, but I have always rooted for our team, based on principal alone.  And also, Seth Greenberg is a completely underrated coach given how he has not only turned our team into a competitor, but has tirelessly worked to bring basketball into the mainstream at Tech.  I mean this guy will do almost anything to get people to support the team, and unlike Al Groh, I'm pretty sure it's working.  That and apparently he's a pretty awesome guy off the court.

But back to the point of the post, we crushed the souls of UMBC, and rightfully so.  Malcolm Delaney had 17 points (half the total of the opposing team), Dorenzo Hudson had 16 points, and Eric Green had 10 points off the bench.  Only one player on UMBC had double digit points, and he only got 11.  I couldn't watch the game because it wasn't televised up here and my cable company doesn't allow me to get ESPN360, but I'm just going to assume that it was our awesome defense that held them to less than Kobe scored last night, BY HIMSELF.

Good job, Hokies.  Keep it up.
